Just received from Amazon today... My primary requirements were a low profile, black unobtrusive sound bar to go in the 3 inches of space I have under my wall mounted Panasonic TCP-65S1. Other options from Samsung and other manufacturers that fit my space requirement had fewer features, only 2.1 channels, and reviews indicating sound quality not quite up to snuff. It is replacing a Yamaha YSP-800 that works fine but simply takes up too much space.
I understand there is some doubt out there about the sub combined with the receiver but so far it sounds fine.
In fact the whole setup sounds better than good... very crisp clean surround 7.1ch emulation, louder and better quality/separation than the 5ch YSP-800 it is replacing.
Time (and a bunch of Blu Ray movies) will tell, and I will update this review with further observations as I further evaluate the unit.
Very easy to install and setup, the setup menus are easy to use. I am not a huge picky audiophile so the minimal setup options are plenty for me... and if I were an audiophile I probably wouldn't be getting a soundbar.
I was curious to see how the HDMI-CEC would work with my VieraLink panny, and this was the one area I was disappointed... First off it loses the VieraLink "HD Theater sound control" setting when the TV turns off and back on. Secondly while the input button works to change inputs on the receiver, it doesn't change it to the right HDMI input to match the panny onscreen display. Not sure how much these are the panny's fault and how much the receiver.
On the plus side for controls, since my DVR control can turn the TV power off and on, using the HDMI inputs on the receiver instead of the TV does the trick... I control inputs and volume with the receiver control and am able to eliminate one control (the TV remote) from my coffee table. I know, I know, I should just get a universal/programmable remote but I haven't had good experiences with them, and two remotes is fine for me.
Since the HDMI-CEC wasn't a requirement for me and the HDMI input handling solves my needs, and everything else is great, I'll tip over the edge from four stars and make it five... since this is a subjective review and I am not rating it against higher end solutions, just $500 or lower sound bars.
Anyways, I hope this account helps anyone with similar needs considering this product.

Still love it, happy with the sound quality but I really like the little remote... just enough buttons not too many, HDMI passthrough works well and let me ditch my TV remote. So the HDMI-CEC complaint is less now, the only reason I cared about that was to ditch a remote... mission accomplished.
I was looking for a Home Theater in a box solution that is minimalist in appearance, without compromising on sound quality or available features. I tried the Bose 3-2-1 system and Cinemate speakers prior to this. I ended up returning both the products. For about $500 less, Yamaha delivers amazing sound quality in a very small footprint ! I highly recommend this product for apartment dwellers or someone who appreciates minimalism.

Hardware:
Low cost ipod dock, but I'm certain it's adequate. I haven't employed it but oddly, even though I have my iPhone on hand for music all the time. But I mainly use MOG and Pandora, both apps included on this internet-connected technique. (MOG for a fee, Pandora if you can put up with their continually-rising advertisements). I think the days of taking time to select and spend to "personal" individual tracks are numbered, I Appreciate the Television showing the music app though the tunes blast more than the speakers.
Remote is decently laid out, but the tactile sense kind of stinks. Not a big deal to me, you just have to press the buttons a tiny harder than what should certainly be important. I've got the remote app on my iPhone, but c'mon LG developers, give that app some KEYBOARD functionality.

Note: The next model up (LG LHB536 1100W 3D Blu-ray Household Theater Method with Intelligent Tv Integrated Wi-Fi) I Thought only included integrated wi-fi connectivity, but look closer at the pics and you will notice this unit adds tweeters as properly. I can't comment on the distinction in sound high quality, but one thing to take into consideration.

I hope the guys at MOG will bring playlist look-up and creation to this app although. Note: There is no looking of others' playlist's either (in my opinion the killer app of the MOG model). But alas, these functions already exist for the iPhone and Android MOG apps, so it is just a matter of time until this hits a developer's queue (PLEASE MOG?!?)

I'm utilizing an Asus RT-N16 router with Tomato USB computer software. Router has 2 USB ports and with Tomato you have a lot even more control over the QOS settings. Got a 2 terrabit hardrive connected to router. We're placing all our music on it. So far the LHB336 has played each audio file we've thrown at it. No way more going via CDs. Put your favored songs in a folder and select that folder in the LHB336. Excellent.
Video looks good on our LG 55LW5600. Don't have any 3D movies to play yet so I can't speak to that.
Pros - Worth. Sound. Capabilities.
Cons - Wife hates having to use three remotes. Had me plug satellite receiver directly to Tv. It is a small much more complicated than our using our old Tv setup. It appears you have to press a lot of buttons to get to where you want to be. But then our old Tv/DVD setup did not do 1/3rd of what the new Television/Blu Ray property theater method can.
Nevertheless working on acquiring it to play video files from the network drive. Will update review when I figure that out.
Downloaded a 3D video file yesterday. Had to convert it to AVI format. Check out video format specs on LG's web site. Blu Ray disk player will play certain formats. Will not play these identical formats off a USB Harddrive. So you can't just copy a DVD formated video file more than to the difficult drive. Had to convert a single of our holiday videos from DVD format to AVI to watch it.
BTW, the 3D video was great! The 2D to 3D (although nonetheless intriguing) is just a low cost trick compared to and actual 3D video. Video was clear, vivid and coming out of the television.
